My Difficulties in Learning English
There have been many difficulties in learning English during the past …… years, but I managed to overcome them and made much progress.
The spelling and meaning of words can be said to be the first difficulty I met as a beginner. But I found our my own way to deal with them. As to spelling, I never copied a new word again and again to remember it, but tried to find its relevance to the sound. In fact, as long as I can read the word out, I can write it out. As to the meaning, I rarely recite its Chinese translation but often put the word into the sentence to learn its meaning. Moreover, if you use a word quite often, its spelling and meaning will be of no problem. After all, we are learning English in order to use it.
Grammar and idioms may be another difficulty. But I have also got over it. I have not read lots of grammar books. But I spent much time reading the articles written by native speakers or specialists in English. By doing so, I came to gain “a sense of English language”. I began to gain a feel for which sentences are “good English” and which are not.
Finally, I want to say that overcoming all these difficulties requires perseverance.
How I Overcame My Difficulties in Learning English?
Most Chinese students have difficulties in learning English. The difficulties vary so much from person to person that it is difficult to cite here in a few words. Some may have problems in reading. Others may have trouble in writing. I also had problems in English learning, but my difficulty seemed to lie in listening. For example, when tested for listening comprehension, I couldn't understand a single sentence, let alone a passage of medium level.
In order to overcome the difficulty in my English learning, I made great efforts to find the key to the problem. I consulted my teacher and found out that I merely didn't have enough time to practice listening. So I bought a tape recorder and listened to it at least two hours a day. In addition, I listened to "Special English" on VOA. I also went out of my way to speak to foreigners on the campus whenever we meet so that I could have the chance to listen to the native speakers. After half a year's hard work, I could get 70% of the questions correct in listening comprehension tests.
I own my success to my English teacher. It is him who tells me the correct way to learn English. It is him who always encourages me when I encounter difficulties and feel disappointed.
When it comes to difficulties of English study, Different people have diverse opinion, such as hard of hearing, less word, confusion of grammar, even poor writing skills etc. As for me, beside what have mentioned above, I have no enough time and energy to learning, which due to a fulltime work .
How to solute these problem？I think strong will is key to success. Thus, some measures must be taken as following are. To begin with, I make good use of all available time. I usually study my English until 11 o’clock at night. Then, I make a record on new words with MP3 so that I can review new words on the way both from home to unit and from unit to home. Furthermore, the most important way is, I always make good notes in the class, and review carefully again and again after the class. Finally, I make some simulated composition through the way that translate English composition into Chinese then translate it into English and imitate it time and again.It just as proverb goes “slow and steady wins the race”. Eventually, I have a great progress in my learning English. Certainly, the progress is limited. So I still eager to attain some available advise from teacher and classmates.

How I Overcome My Difficulties In Learning English With the development of economy,English is becoming more and more important nowadays.So it is necessary for us to learn English well;meanwhile,conquering English is not an exacting task for us.many students find their own way to overcome difficulties.As for me,the following methods are helpful for my English study.
To begin with,reading English books and novels is one of the best approaches.Since reading is generally considered to be a form of light entertainment and a kind of penacea to improve our comprehension skills,it will undoubtedly help us overcome difficulties in learning English.Besides,we must practice English everyday.There is a saying that goes”Practice makes perfect!”So I firmly believe that practicing everyday will improve our oral English.Through practicing we mey recite some passages and it is also useful to our English writing,so why not have a try?Last but not the least,putting the knowledge we’ve learned into practice is essential for our English study.We should grab every chance to communicate with others in English,especially foreigners.Because it provides a platform for us to broaden our horizon and eich our memory.
In a word,reading English books,practicing everday and communicating with foreigners are all excellent methods for us to learn english.but the most important thing is that you should find ways to
learn it according to your own conditions.

Though English is beautiful,it is difficult to learn as a second language.
In English,letter combinations don't have fixed sounds.Meanwhile,different letter
combinations can be sounded identical.For example, the word “wood” sounds the same as “would”. So it is difficult to spell a umfamiliar English word correctly when you hear one.
In English,verbs have different form.For instance, when you want to talk about
something happened several days ago, you should use the past tense of a verb.However when you are talking about something will happen in the future, you may use the future tense. Furthermore,there are irregular verbs! Which means you have to memorize each form of each irregular verb.
There are tons of phrases to learn in English.It is not very easy for non-natives to guess the meaning of phrases.Some of them are hard to understand.Knowing the meaning is not enough, you should know where and how to use the phrases as well.
