Nowadays, study abroad has increasingly become a hot topic in campus with the improvement of the people’s life standard and the fast development of student exchange programs. However, there are some different views about going abroad to study.

Some people are in favor of the idea of going abroad to study. They point out the fact that it is a great opportunity for those who study abroad to be exposed to more new ideas and trends and broaden their horizons in a great degree. They also argue that those who study abroad can get more in touch with the foreign cultures and have a better
surrounding to learn language well. In addition, they also consider that it is a better choice for those who depend on their parents too much to be independent.
有的人赞成出国留学的想法。他们指出，事实上，这对那些出国留学的人来说是个很好的机会。他们可以接触到更多新的思想潮流，这在很大程度上能够拓展他们的视野。他们还认为，那些出国留学的人可以更好的接触外国文化，有更好的环境学好语言。另外，他们认为这对那些过于依赖父母而不能独立的人来说是更好的选择。
On the contrary, other people stand on a different ground. They consider that it is harmful for the students who study abroad. They firmly point out that learning a foreign language and communicating smoothly with the local people is far from an easy thing at the outset for most students. What’s worse, it also takes time for students to adapt themselves to a new diet, custom, set of ideas and even the climate.

There are some truths in their arguments. As far as I am concerned, the advantages of studying abroad overweight the disadvantages, while it’s essential to take the condition of family as an important premise when deciding to go abroad to study.
他们说的都有道理。就我而言，我觉得出国留学的利大于弊，而且决定出国留学的时候有必要把家庭条件作为一个重要的前提。
诚实 Honesty
Recently, I have seen an impressive film—“Meet the Parents”, which is about a
woman Palm brought her boyfriend Greg to her parents’ home to spend holiday. In the film, Greg was so dishonest to Palm’s parents that Palm’s father is suspicious of his behavior and quality. As a result, Greg is obnoxious to all and has to leave. As far as I am concerned,
the consequence is heavily caused by his dishonesty. If Greg could be real him all the time, he would get much respect and appreciation and would not get much frustration. From the film, I have learned that being honest was extremely important and necessary. In other words, being honest is a basic principle for us to deal with others.

For one thing, we will not get others’ trust unless we are honest. If we deceive others, we would get the same in return, and even no one would make friends with us or even communicate with us. For another, we will get others’ respect and appreciation if telling the truth. Telling the truth and being ourselves, we will get a healthy and peaceful surrounding to grow up better.
一方面，除非我们队别人诚实，否则我们得不到别热的信任。如果我们欺骗别人，我们也会得到同样的对待，甚至没有人会和我们做朋友或者沟通。另一方面，如果我们说真话，我们会得到别人的尊重和赏识。说真话，做自己，我们会拥有健康平静的环境以更好的成长。
However, something strange happens in our society. There is a strange phenomenon that honest people suffer but the dishonest benefit a lot. It made some people have a suspicion that being honest is not so important.
然而，社会上仍有一些奇怪的事情发生。有这样一个奇怪的现象，老实人吃亏，不老实人获益良多。这使得有些人怀疑诚实是否没那么重要了。
But I still believe that these are just a few cases, since honesty is deeply rooted in our minds and we still consider it as a basic principle in social contacts.

中国文化 Chinese Culture
In recent years, there are more and more Confucius Institutes being built all around the world, which shows that our Chinese culture become much more popular than ever. As one of the four ancient civilizations, China has long history and creates many splendid cultures. The ancient culture once had great influence on the world, such as Japan, South Korea and other Asian and European countries.
近年，世界各地建立了越来越多的孔子学院，这表明我们的中国文化比过去更受欢迎了。作为四大文明古国之一，中国有着悠久的历史并且创造了许多辉煌的文化。古代文化曾经对世界产生了巨大影响，比如日本，韩国以及其他欧亚国家。
From the respect of school, Confucianism, Mohism, Taoism, and Legalism are the main schools created in ancient China, and they also have great influence on the Modern China and the world, especially the Confucianism. They deeply root in traditional Chinese culture and people’s daily lives.
就学校方面来看，儒家、墨家、道家以及法家是中国古代开创的主要流派。它们也对现代中国和世界产生了巨大影响，尤其是儒家思想。它们深深的根植于传统的中国文化和人们的日常生活中。
Specially, kung fu, traditional Chinese painting, poem, opera, cooking, clothing,
architecture and many other kinds of cultural forms make up the splendid Chinese culture. The kinds listed above are the typical ones which connect to each other at the same time. For example, painting, clothing and architecture has many things in common. And each kind of cultural form contains numerous intentions.
特别地，功夫、传统的中国绘画、诗歌、戏剧、烹饪、服饰、建筑以及很多其他种类的文化形式组成了辉煌的中国文化。以上列举的种类都是典型的，同时也是相互联系的。例如，绘画、服饰和建筑有很多的共同之处。每一种文化形式都包涵了大量的意向。
In short, Chinese culture are the accumulation of Chinese history, which makes
