1）across的含义与on有关，表示动作是在某一物体的表面进行的。
I walked across the park.
He hurried across the bridge to Waterloo.
2）across 侧重“横跨，横穿”。
A lone gull flew across the sky.
There is no bridge across the river.
3）“在河（路、街等的）另一边，对面”
The woods were across the river.
The bus stop is just across the road.
4）“交叉”“遍及”
The two lines pass/cut across each other at the right angles.
Hundreds of shops across the country began selling antique clothing.

The sunlight was coming in through the window.
He got us in through the back door.
They made a hole through the wall.
2)“从村庄（树林、城镇、人群、街道等）穿过”，“沿??而过”。
I wandered through the town/the street/the city.
We walked through the village/the forests/the woods.
Then we started to push our way through crowds of children.
3）“从较为广大（宽大）的地域内穿过”，尽管是从表面上穿行，也常常要使用through，这时，through可以与across替换。
An Arab was walking alone through / across the desert when he met two men. We traveled through New England visiting many old towns.
The river flows through the great plain.
They walked through the open fields.
The footpath runs through the fields.
4) through可以指“在（一段）时间中，一直到”
He would be there through August.
We walked through the night.
I go to walk Monday through Friday.

across, cross是横过的意思，across是介词,通常在用go, run, swim. 等搭配；cross是动词,通常可以直接放在句子中；through是穿过，跟across一样是介词,通常在用go, run, swim.等搭配through与cross的不同在于：through是 “从中（内部）通过”；across是从事物表面穿过; over(介词) “在……上面过”。
(1) across (介词) “横过，穿过”，指从……的一边到另一边. Eg:
I went across the road = I cross the road. 我横过马路(经斑马线)
(2) cross (动词) “穿过”
(3) through （介词） “穿过，通过”，指穿过两边（从内部）。We walked through the forest.
(4) over(介词) “在……上面过” eg: a bridge over the river 横跨河面的桥
