现在的努力一定会有回报
也许你的老板可以控制
你的工资，可是他却无法遮住
你的眼睛，捂上你的耳朵，阻
止你去思考、去学习。
如果我们发现自己的老板并不是一个睿智的人，并没有注意到我们所付出的努力，也没有给予相应的回报，那么也不要懊丧，我们可以换一个角度来思考：现在的努力并不是为了现在的回报，而是为了未来。我们投身于商业是为了自己，是在为自己而工作。人生并不是只有现在，而且有更长远的未来。固然，薪水要努力多挣，但那只是个短期的小问题，最重要的是获得不断晋升的机会，为未来获得更多的收入奠定基础。更何况生存问题需要通过发展来解决，眼光只盯着温饱，得到的永远只有温饱。
手工业时代，男孩子为了学一门手艺常常拜师学艺多年，却无法拿到一分钱的工资，但他们毫无怨言，现在的年轻人在学本事的同时还可以拿工资，却抱怨不已。
究其原因在于两者对于薪水看法不同。在手工业时代的男孩和家长看来，能有一个好的学习技能和知识的机会是十分难得的，他们一切努力和付出都是为了未来能开办自己的作坊和店铺。而现代年轻人则更注重现实利益，赚钱是为了消费和享受。
时代变了，注重现实利益本身并没有错，问题在于现在的年轻人较为短视，忽略了个人能力的培养，他们在现实利益和未来价值之间
没有找到一个均衡点。
暂时的放弃是为了未来更好的获得。尽管薪水微薄，但是我们应该认识到，老板交付给的任务能锻炼我们的意志，上司分配给我们的工作能发展我们的才能，与同事合作能培养我们的人格，与客户的交流能训练我们的品性。企业是我们生活得另一所学校，工作能够丰富我们的思想，增进我们的智慧。
比如俾斯麦，别的方面我们姑且不谈，但在这一点上，他还是有值得我们学习的地方。俾斯麦在德国驻俄外交部工作时，薪水也很低，但是他却从来没有因为工资低而放弃努力，在那里他学到了很多外交技巧，也锻炼了自身决策能力，这些对他后来的政治活动影响很大。
许多商界名人开始工作时收入都不高，但是他们从来没有将眼光局限于此，而是始终不渝的努力工作。在他们看来，缺少的不是金钱，而是能力、经验和机会。最后当他们功成名就之时，又如何衡量他们的收入是多少呢？
在你工作时，要时刻告诫自己：我要为自己的现在和将来而努力。无论你的工资收入是多还是少，都要清楚地认识到，那只是你从工作中获得的一小部分。不要太多考虑你的工资，而应该用更多的时间去接受新的知识，培养自己的能力，展现自己的才华，因为这些才是真正的无价之宝。在你未来的资产中，它们的价值远远超过的现在所积累的货币资产。当你从一个新手、一个无知的员工成长为一个熟练的、高效的管理者时，你实际上已经大有收获了。你可以在其他公司甚至自己独立创业时，充分发挥这些才能，获得更高的报酬。

如果在工作中收到挫折，如果你认为自己的工资太低，如果你发现一个没有你能干的人成为你的上司，也不要气馁，因为谁都抢不走你拥有的无形资产——你的技能、你的经验、你的决心和信心，而这一切最终会给你回报。
不要对自己说：“既然老板给多少，我就干多少，没必要去费心地区完成每一个任务。”也不要因为自己挣得钱少，就安慰自己说：“算了，我技不如人，能拿到这些工资也知足了。”消极的思想会让你看不见自己的潜力，会让你失去前进的动力和信心，会让你放弃很多宝贵的机会，使你与成功失之交臂。
也许我们无法命令老板做什么，但是我们却可以让自己按照最佳的方式行事；也许老板不是很有风度，但是我们应该要求自己做事要有原则。你不应该因为老板的缺点而不努力工作，而埋没了自己的才华，毁了自己的未来。总之，不论你的老板有多吝啬多苛刻，你都不
能以此为由放弃努力。
试比较两个具有相同背景的年轻人：一个热情主动、积极进取，对自己的工作总是精益求精，总是为公司的利益着想；而另一个总喜欢投机取巧，总嫌自己的薪水太低，总把自己的利益放在第一位。如果你是老板，你会雇用谁，或者说你会给谁更多的发展和晋升的机会呢?
