However, living in the dormitories means you have less private space which is a challenge for some students. On the other hand, the dormitory rules bring us some inconvenience, such as we cannot use the washing machine in the dormitory.
In my opinion, the advantages out weight the disadvantages. As someone said, out of school, you won't be able to find a place to live with your best friends everyday and pays the lowest rent.

College dorm can offer learning areas and rooms for entertainment. In my view, living in a college dorm is beneficial for students.
First of all, it’s very convenient. Usually, college dorm is closed to teaching area. It will be easier to find the classroom for the freshman. Secondly, the harmonious dormitory will enhance teamwork among students. It’s impossible for anyone to complete work all by himself. The roommates can give us encouragement and help us overcome difficulties, when we are dismayed. Thirdly, there is no denying that living in a college dorm is one of the most efficient way for interpersonal communication. We can contact several people who come from different regions and experience different cultures, while a person who lives off-campus may become a lone wolf. They have less chance to get along with others. Then, they feel reluctant to approach others and to concentrate on real life. That is why some people have lost the skill of direct contact and get alienated from others. Fourthly, leading a dormitory life teaches us how to take others’ feeling into consideration. In the collective, we can’t do whatever we want. It gives student more time to concern about others and reflect on ourselves.
In conclusion, living in a college dorm enables people to communicate friendly, replace thinking and cooperate with each other which are imperative for any individual’s, in terms of both character and competence.
