父母到底该不该看孩子日记？这是家庭教育领域一个颇有争论的话题。有专家提出，如果孩子表现“很不对劲”，又拒绝沟通，日记是家长帮助他们摆脱困惑甚至险境的一条捷径。迫不得已这样做时，父母应具备一些“技巧”。
虽然，父母是不应该偷看孩子日记的。但眼下的现实生活中，一些青少年自认为“我自己的事情，我能解决”，遇到困难不愿向父母倾诉，日积月累，造成了不良后果。
而当孩子对家长“金口难开”的同时，有时会在日记中有所表露。如果这时父母适当看看孩子日记，就能了解他（她）的内心世界和真实想法，从而做出针对性指导。“这是一个非常严肃的举动，事前家长必须慎重考虑。”做不到以下几点的父母最好放弃这个念头，不要让自己的轻率给孩子造成不可弥补的伤害：
1、有足够的心理准备。日记的内容很有可能令家长感到意外、吃惊，很难接受。

6、适可而止。日记是孩子的隐私，一旦他们的“心病”解决了，父母就要停止偷看，避免造成不必要的伤害。
